WHAT IS AN ESSENTIAL OIL?

You may have heard about aromatherapy.  But maybe you are new to the idea of essential oils being used for more than an air freshener or something you smell at a spa to relax.  Essential oils are the aromatic liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds.  Within the plant, it acts as the immune system.  Essential oils in the plant is what the plant, itself, uses to regenerate, oxygenate, deal with damage, and much more.

The plant kingdom has continued to amaze us with powerful essential oils used to support physical and emotional well-being since the beginning of time.  Essential oils are not new.  In fact, there are many references in the Bible that mention how essential oils were historically used.  Additionally, Egyptian tombs have been found with jars of essential oils!

Not until recently has science been able to determine the full potential of how and why essential oils can have an effect on our bodies.  And now we are able to combine modern technology with traditional farming practices to produce Young Living essential oils.
